For Fraud Prevention Month, we launched a campaign to teach British Columbians how to spot and protect themselves from crypto scams.
At the centre of the campaign were three videos that borrowed from the look and feel of crypto influencers on social media, where misinformation and scams often target young investors. Each video starts out as a classic crypto sales pitch before taking a turn as the influencer enthusiastically explains exactly how they plan to scam you. The message is that not all scams are this obvious.
