Muskoka Brewery was founded in 1996 by a couple of guys with a passion for the outdoors and a passion for beer. Striving to stand out in the crowded beer market as a major independent craft brewer, we helped them rebrand the company by designing the logo and packaging, introducing a new beer, and launching their updated brand with a marketing push.

Along with branding for their regular lineup, we were also tasked with creating seasonal packaging. Winter is a tough, cold, kinda boring time of year, so we designed 'The Winter Survival' Pack for their seasonal beers. Inside the Survival Pack, people got a sample of Muskoka’s heartiest brews, and on the outside found tips on how to survive the winter. Tips like how to open a beer when stranded in a forest might just save a life someday.

Muskoka Brewery's Mad Tom IPA is the number one selling IPA in Ontario. For the packaging, we turned to storytelling to finally give fans of the beer some answers about the myth of Mad Tom. Sort of. The campaign told four different origin stories, with no clue as to which was true, leaving fans to debate Mad Tom's true identity over a beer.

Though beer may be their first love, Muskoka Brewery recently ventured into new territory: gin. For the packaging, we drew inspiration from the tempered thaw of a Muskoka winter, and how this gives rise to new and strange creations. Legends date back to the 1800s when lumberjacks and fur traders took to the woods and encountered the mysterious culture and wildlife in the Northern Ontario region. Today, we echo our ancestors’ quest for discovery and have unearthed a unique and adventurous offering, the Muskoka Spirits Legendary Gin.
